Mr. Balbir Singh, hailing from the village of Kalam, migrated to the United Kingdom in 1976. Upon arrival, he pursued his education while simultaneously working in a factory to support himself. Over time, through sheer dedication and hard work, he established a successful garment business, earning respect and recognition in the UK.

Deep-rooted Affection for His Homeland

Mr. Balbir’s journey abroad never weakened his emotional bond with his native village. Inspired by his schooling experience and family values, he actively participated in numerous village welfare activities. He strongly believes in empowering the next generation and in giving back to the land that shaped his roots.

Founding YFC Rurka Kalan: A Vision Realized

In 2008, Mr. Balbir Singh, along with like-minded NRIs, played a pivotal role in establishing YFC (Youth Football Club) in Rurka Kalan. The initiative was started with a vision to develop children holistically through sports, education, and values. Together, the group contributed £35,000 (approximately ₹28–30 lakhs) towards its founding.Since then, Mr. Balbir has remained a regular contributor, both financially and ideologically, helping the organization grow from a local club to an institution of youth empowerment and community development.

A Tribute Through Infrastructure

In recent years, Mr. Balbir Singh made a remarkable contribution of ₹50 lakhs towards the establishment of a modern village gym, named in memory of his beloved brother, Sardar Jarnail Singh. This gym is not just a facility but a symbol of dedication to health, unity, and remembrance.

Leadership Abroad with Roots at Heart

Mr. Balbir Singh has also been an active figure in the local governance of the UK, having launched and supported the campaign of Mayor Durbey in England. His ability to balance leadership abroad while continuously investing in village welfare sets a powerful example for others in the diaspora.

Even today, Mr. Aujla remains deeply connected to Muthadda Khurd. He visits the village twice a year and actively participates in development discussions and social initiatives. His regular presence and consistent contributions continue to inspire others in the diaspora.
